Thankfully I'm blessed that both my children are obsessed with books. Our house is like a small library at this stage. Books upon books everywhere.
I don't think children can have too many books and when they're done with them they can always be donated to charities.
Let's jump in to the 5 top books in our house!
1. Title: When I am Big
Author: Penny Johnson/ Kristen Irving
This is a book I got when my eldest was small and we still have it. A lovely story about being excited to grow up and what the rabbit will be able to do when hes big. The illustrations in this book are beautiful. My youngest adores the pictures and will spend ages pointing at them with a giant smile on his face. This book will forever be in our house.

2. Title: Zog and the flying doctors
Author: Julia Donaldson
This is a book I could read with my eyes closed at this stage. A lot of you may already know this book but if not its a great addition to your children's collection. The sequel of Zog. A story about a dragon and two doctors. They fly around helping the animals nearby when they are sick. When the princess (who's now a doctor) sees her uncles house she decides to visit him. Her uncle is not happy she is a doctor and not a princess anymore. Read to find out what happens! Another book with fantastic bright illustrations that will keep your little one occupied no matter if they're 1 or 5.

3. Title: Danny and the champion of the. world
Author: Roald Dahl
What collection of children's books would be complete without a book by Roald Dahl. This book would off course be more suited to older children. My son absolutely loved this one. (Although I've yet to see him dislike a book by Roald Dahl yet)
Danny lives with his father who owns a filling station. They live a wonderful life even though they are not rich by any means. One night Danny wakes up and finds his father is nowhere to be found, when he arrives home Danny finds out his father has been keeping a secret.
An exciting adventure, full of fun and laughter.

4: Title: The Lion Inside
Author: Rachel Bright
A timid mouse is tired of feeling scared, being forgotten about and not being heard. He decides to go find the big brave lion nearby to teach him how to roar. When he approaches the lion he realises that even the big brave lion gets scared too, the lion is scared of mice! This is a fantastic short story about bravery. It teaches the child that it doesn't matter how big or small you are EVERYONE has a voice and they shouldn't be afraid to use it. Another book with beautiful illustrations that will keep any small child occupied and happy.

5. Title: The adventures of Lola
Author: Roisin Curry
Now obviously I have to put my own book in this list as it has become a favourite in our house now. I wouldn't be much of an author if I didn't try to promote my own book even a little bit.
Description:
Lola lives with her best friends in the whole world. After a rough and uncomfortable start in life she ends up living with Jake and Liam. They have so much fun and go on so many wonderful adventures together. Lola dreams of going to space and being a real astronaut. Will Lolas dream come true?
This is a magical story about friendship, adventure and letting go.
